Tech in Ghana Conference Returns to Accra on November 26

The 14th edition of the Tech in Ghana Conference is set to take place in Accra from November 26-27, 2024, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel. The event promises to bring together key players in Ghana’s tech ecosystem to discuss innovation, partnerships, and the future of technology in the country.

Under the theme “Security, Synergy, and Storytelling,” the conference will focus on critical areas such as data protection, fostering collaboration between local and international stakeholders, and sharing Ghana’s tech success stories with the world.

Highlights of the Event

The two-day conference will feature panels on health and education innovation, entertainment and technology partnerships, and solutions to challenges like regulation and funding. Additionally, this year introduces the Tech in Ghana mobile app, designed to enhance networking and engagement by providing personalized agendas, exhibitor details, and speaker information.

Since its inception in 2017, Tech in Ghana has become a flagship event for the nation’s tech sector. With over 4,000 participants and 700 speakers across 13 editions in London and Accra, the platform continues to foster collaboration between startups, investors, government agencies, and multinational corporations.

Speaking at the press launch, Akosua Annobil, Founder of Tech in Ghana, highlighted the remarkable growth of Ghana’s tech ecosystem over the past seven years. She described the conference as more than just an event, emphasizing its role in connecting stakeholders, fostering partnerships, and elevating the voice of Ghana’s tech industry.

“Our aim is to strengthen and build the ecosystem, while also expanding opportunities for collaboration and access,” she noted.

Annobil also acknowledged partnerships with organizations like Spurt, Socialite AF, and DYMAX, which have supported content creation, pop culture integration, and marketing efforts.

She urged attendees to download the new Tech in Ghana app to maximize their experience, describing it as a powerful tool for networking and engagement.

Her Excellency Harriet Thompson, British High Commissioner to Ghana, praised the rapid growth of Ghana’s tech sector, describing it as a catalyst for economic growth and innovation.

“The Tech in Ghana platform not only underscores Ghana’s position as a tech hub but also facilitates valuable partnerships. It’s a space where we can learn from each other and tackle key challenges like access and affordability,” she said.

Thompson also underscored the importance of preparing Ghana’s youth for future opportunities in tech, citing the achievements of local tech founders and multinational corporations as inspiration.

Mr. Tavona Biza, Group CEO of Old Mutual Ghana, highlighted the need to address issues like regulation, funding, and support to unlock Ghana’s full tech potential. He expressed hope that the conference would serve as a launchpad for many tech companies.
