Adjetey Anang Heartbroken by Devastating Impact of Galamsey

Renowned Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang, has voiced his deep sorrow and concern over the destructive effects of illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, on Ghana’s water bodies and environment.

In a recent interview, Anang stressed the urgent need for decisive action to address the crisis, highlighting the serious threat it poses to the well-being of the nation. Reflecting on his visits to galamsey-affected areas, the actor shared how witnessing the polluted and degraded water sources left him heartbroken and deeply troubled.

“I fully support efforts aimed at putting an end to this menace. Lives are at stake, and it’s crucial that we act to save them,” Anang stated. He also threw his weight behind initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of galamsey, calling on leaders and citizens alike to take the issue seriously.

“It’s time for us to speak up and continue making noise about this issue. Our health and our future are being jeopardized, and what we are choosing to prioritize instead makes no sense,” he added.

Anang further called for protests and actions against galamsey to be carried out in a peaceful and lawful manner, ensuring that public safety and the rule of law are upheld.

“As someone who respects the law, I believe that as long as we stay within legal boundaries, we are safe. But once we cross that line, we risk a never-ending conflict,” he concluded.

Anang’s call underscores the growing frustration over galamsey’s impact, and his plea for peaceful advocacy highlights the importance of a unified, responsible approach to ending this national crisis.
