Odumodublvck has swiftly ascended to superstar status, emerging as one of Africa’s most prominent rap figures since his breakthrough into Nigeria’s mainstream music scene.
In a recent interview, veteran rapper MI Abaga was asked to name the hottest rapper in Nigeria at the moment, and without hesitation, he handed the title to Odumodublvck.
“The rapper currently at the top of the game is Odumodublvck. What I truly admire about him is how he’s been a unifying force. He bridges the gap between the old and new schools, while also shining a spotlight on talent from his hometown,” MI Abaga remarked.
“He’s unique, stands out, and I have immense respect and admiration for him,” he added.
Following this high praise, Odumodublvck took to his social media to celebrate the endorsement from one of the artists he frequently regards as one of Nigeria’s greatest rappers.
Odumodublvck’s rise has been meteoric, fueled by his breakout hit single ‘Picanto’ featuring Zlatan, which positioned him as one of Nigeria’s most consistent hitmakers.
In 2022, he bagged the Headies Award for Best Rap Song with his hit track ‘Declan Rice,’ alongside the Rookie of the Year title, marking him as one of the year’s biggest breakthrough artists.
His 2023 album “Eziokwu” has also made waves, staying in the top 10 of Spotify Nigeria’s charts for an impressive 50 weeks a record for a rap project. To further cement his status as a leading African rapper, Odumodublvck has earned a nomination for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards.
