Busta Rhymes Offers R90k Reward for Stolen Phone at Sandton Club

In a recently surfaced viral video, American rapper Busta Rhymes made an emotional appeal after a phone was stolen during his appearance at LIV Sandton over the weekend.
Famed for his fast-paced lyrical style and electrifying performances, Busta took to the microphone to address the crowd, pleading for the phone’s return.

Trevor George Smith Jr., widely recognized as Busta Rhymes, offered a reward of $5,000 (approximately R86,850) for the safe return of a young woman’s stolen phone. His heartfelt message reflected his dedication to doing the right thing.
He stressed the importance of community and integrity, urging the audience to return the phone. “Please bring it back. Let’s do the honourable thing. Let’s act as we should, as African people. This isn’t right,” he stated.

Clearly upset by the incident, Busta voiced his frustration while still maintaining his usual charm: “I want that iPhone 12 back. I’m serious. I’m smiling because I’m happy, but I’m not happy about this woman’s pain.”
Busta was in South Africa headlining alongside Jason Derulo at the DSTV Delicious Festival on September 21. With 12 Grammy nominations, multiple platinum albums, and iconic hits like “Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check”, “Break Ya Neck”, and “I Know What You Want”, Busta Rhymes remains a legend in the hip-hop world, celebrated for his energetic performances and distinctive style.
