Kuami Eugene Credits Church for Shaping His Music Career

Ghanaian highlife musician Kuami Eugene has expressed his gratitude to the church for playing a significant role in his musical journey. In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Kuami revealed that he honed his musical skills by learning to play various instruments while growing up in the church.
“The church made me,” Kuami emphasized. “I learned everything I know from the church. As a young boy, I knew I wanted to become a great musician, so I prepared myself by learning to play every musical instrument I could get my hands on.”
Kuami, known for his hit song “Angela,” disclosed that he plays the piano, trumpet, drums, and guitar. To enhance his performances, he also learned how to do backflips.
In addition to his musical talents, Kuami has also developed his skills in music production by taking a course in the field. He began his music career as a gospel artist through the Eugene Marfo Ministries, producing several gospel songs before gaining widespread recognition after participating in the MTN Hitmaker contest.
Although Kuami no longer identifies as a gospel artist, he remains connected to the church and collaborates with gospel musicians. He has written songs for notable gospel artists, including Joyce Blessing, Empress Gifty, and Obaapa Christy, and frequently performs gospel songs at church events.
