ATEEZ Earn Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 with GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2

K-pop stars ATEEZ claim their second Billboard 200 No. 1 as their album GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 debuts atop the chart dated November 30. The album earned 184,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. during its first week, ending November 21, according to Luminate. This marks the group’s best performance to date, with an overwhelming 179,000 units coming from traditional album sales.

This milestone follows the group’s 2023 chart-topping success with THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL. The new release is ATEEZ’s sixth consecutive top 10 album on the Billboard 200, solidifying their growing influence in the global music scene.

Key Highlights from the Billboard 200 Top 10

Alongside ATEEZ’s chart-topping debut, other notable movements in the top 10 include:

Linkin Park returned with From Zero, their first studio album in seven years, entering at No. 2 with 97,000 units. This marks the band’s 12th top 10 album and their first without late vocalist Chester Bennington.

Jin, the BTS member, debuted his solo album Happy at No. 4, earning 77,000 units, making him the final BTS member to achieve a solo top 10 effort.

Rauw Alejandro made his first Billboard 200 top 10 entry with Cosa Nuestra, debuting at No. 6 with 67,000 units, driven primarily by streaming.

ENHYPEN saw their album ROMANCE: UNTOLD re-enter at No. 7 after a reissue featuring bonus tracks, boosting sales by 960%.

Breaking Records for Non-English Albums

GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 is primarily in Korean, making it the 26th predominantly non-English-language album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It’s also the third such album to do so in 2024, joining releases by Stray Kids and TWICE. Notably, 17 of the 26 non-English No. 1 albums have been in Korean, underscoring the genre’s global dominance.

Chart Insights

Billboard’s methodology for the Billboard 200 combines album sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA). For GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2, SEA contributed 5,000 units (equal to 6.43 million streams), while TEA added a negligible number. The album’s sales were bolstered by 29 physical format variants (23 CDs and six vinyl editions) and three digital versions, some including collectible items and bonus tracks.

Other Chart Movements

Tyler, The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA fell to No. 3 after three weeks at the top, earning 81,000 units. Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet dropped to No. 5, while Gracie Abrams, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan rounded out the top 10.
