NLC Secures Temporary Injunction to Halt CLOGSAG Strike

The National Labour Commission (NLC) has successfully secured a court order, temporarily halting the strike action by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG).
The strike began after CLOGSAG’s demands were not met by an October 31 deadline, following an October 23 notice addressing delays in finalizing a salary structure that was set to take effect on January 1, 2025. Despite several discussions, CLOGSAG reports that the government has yet to make a firm offer.
The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, however, argued that CLOGSAG has not yet responded to a government proposal on the salary structure.
In response, the NLC filed a petition with the Accra High Court on November 7, leading the court to grant a 10-day injunction on the strike, with the NLC required to return to court upon the order’s expiration.
