Yvonne Chaka Chaka to Share the Stage with Ghanaian Legends at 2024 African Legends Night

The 2024 edition of the African Legends Night concert is set to take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, October 5. This annual event has become a hallmark of excellence in African music, showcasing world-class performances that celebrate the continent’s rich musical heritage.
Over the years, African Legends Night has welcomed an impressive lineup of celebrated artists, including the likes of Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Freddie Meiway, Kanda Bongoman, Amakye Dede, and Daddy Lumba, solidifying its reputation as a premier musical event.
This year, the concert will feature renowned South African music icon Yvonne Chaka Chaka. With a career spanning more than thirty years, she is celebrated for timeless hits such as “Umqombothi,” “I’m Burning Up,” and “Thank You, Mr DJ.” Her music resonates across borders and generations, making her one of the most cherished voices in the African music scene.
Joining Chaka Chaka on stage will be legendary Ghanaian artists Okyeame Kwame, George Jahraa, and Adane Best, promising an unforgettable night of musical collaboration.
In a recent interview with Caleb Kudah on the Citi Breakfast Show, Chaka Chaka downplayed her headlining status. “I don’t think I am headlining the show. I see Okyeame Kwame, George Jahraa, and Adane Best as my brothers. So, we are performing together… This is our gig,” she remarked.
She expressed her desire to connect with the local community, stating, “For me, when I go somewhere, I want to feel part of that community. I don’t want to say ‘them’ we are all one people.”
Excited to thrill fans with her performance, Chaka Chaka also expressed appreciation to Global Media Alliance for organizing such a spectacular event.
