Okyeame Kwame Set to Release Unapologetic Song Condemning Illegal Mining

Renowned Ghanaian artist Okyeame Kwame has expressed deep remorse and frustration over the devastating impact illegal mining has had on the country’s water bodies, particularly the River Pra.

In a candid post on his Facebook page, the “Rap Doctor” shared his regret about not using his platform and influence sooner to address the issue of illegal mining, also known as “galamsey,” which has caused severe environmental damage.

“When you witness a crime but stay silent, you are not just an observer—you are an accomplice. I am guilty of not speaking out about galamsey earlier, and I’m about to correct that. I took this picture of the ‘Raped’ River Pra in 2018, and it haunts me every day. It’s time for me to release an unapologetic song against illegal mining… What lyrics should I include? Let’s go all out!” Okyeame Kwame wrote.

Often referred to as “Mr. Ghana” for his advocacy on national issues, Okyeame Kwame has consistently championed initiatives that promote the growth and development of the country.

His upcoming song is expected to send a powerful message, joining the ongoing fight against illegal mining until the issue is fully addressed and perpetrators brought to book.
