Davido Shuts Down Critics: “Nothing Can Change the Fact We Had a Fairytale Wedding”
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Davido isn’t letting criticism dampen the joy of his recent wedding to longtime partner Chioma Avril Rowland.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on August 13, 2025, the singer proudly declared that their wedding was nothing short of magical — despite what critics might say about its lavishness.
“We had an amazing wedding — perfect in fact! And my wife’s body still dey sweet us like this,” Davido wrote, mixing humor and Pidgin with confidence.
He doubled down on his joy, calling the celebration a “fairytale wedding” and insisting no amount of backlash or online chatter could take that away.
“Nothing una fit say or make up go change the fact that we had a fairytale wedding. One of the best days of our lives! The whole world celebrated us!” he added.
Davido and Chioma tied the knot in a luxurious white wedding ceremony on August 10, 2025, at The Havana in Miami, Florida. The celebration followed their traditional wedding, which took place in Lagos in June 2024.
The Miami event reportedly cost around $3.7 million and was packed with A-list guests — including celebrities, billionaires, and influential figures — making it one of the most extravagant weddings ever seen in Nigerian pop culture history.
Despite a few setbacks, including visa delays that kept some guests like Chioma’s parents and Cubana Chief Priest from attending, the couple went ahead with the celebration in style.
With this event, Davido and Chioma have solidified their status as one of the most admired power couples in African entertainment.
