John Dumelo Claims Historic Win in Ayawaso West Wuogon

In a historic turn of events during the 2024 general elections, actor-turned-politician John Dumelo has secured a groundbreaking victory in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, overcoming his New Patriotic Party (NPP) rival in a fiercely contested race.
Running as the candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dumelo achieved a major milestone, clinching the seat after narrowly losing to the NPP’s Mrs. Lydia Alhassan in 2020. His win this time reflects a significant shift in the political landscape of the constituency.
Dumelo’s campaign focused on driving social change, job creation, and empowering the youth and women. His promises to improve local infrastructure, enhance educational opportunities, and create more jobs resonated strongly with voters across various demographics.
With 47,560 votes, Dumelo defeated Mrs. Lydia Alhassan, who garnered 39,214 votes, securing a decisive margin of victory. The result highlights growing support for Dumelo’s vision and leadership within the constituency.
