Shatta Wale Alleges $4M Record Deal Loss Over GoG Album Leak

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has alleged that he lost a $4 million record deal due to the actions of his former manager, Bullgod. According to the musician, Bullgod leaked the tracklist of his highly anticipated Gift of God (GoG) album, which derailed the plans of an international record label that had partnered with him.
In an interview on Kessben FM, Shatta Wale explained that the album featured collaborations with international artists and was backed by a robust distribution strategy designed by the record label. However, the leak allegedly prompted the label to pull out of the deal, citing concerns over the mishandling of the project.
“My GoG album had international collaborations. At that time, he [Bullgod] was working with me, but when we parted ways, he leaked the tracklist. I had a deal with a record label offering $4 million, and everything was ready for rollout. Just three days before they were set to transfer the money, the leak happened,” Shatta Wale said.
He further claimed that the leak was motivated by personal grievances following the termination of their professional relationship.
“When the label called to ask who was responsible, I told them it was my former manager. Their response was that they couldn’t continue with the deal because of what had happened. It was a big disappointment,” he added.
Shatta Wale’s allegations have sparked renewed conversations about artist-management conflicts and their potential impact on careers in the music industry. Bullgod is yet to respond to these claims.
