Kizz Daniel Urges Musicians to Prioritize Craft Over Social Media Clout

Nigerian Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel has offered valuable advice to fellow musicians, encouraging them to move beyond the pursuit of social media validation and focus on perfecting their craft.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Buga hitmaker emphasized that genuine artistic growth and success stem from dedication to one’s work rather than chasing fleeting popularity on digital platforms.
He referenced American rapper and four-time Grammy winner Killer Mike as an example of an artist whose achievements are not tied to social media trends.
“Leave social media algorithms, focus on your craft… Have you ever heard of a guy called KILLER MIKE? Guess not… 4-time Grammy winner. Stop chasing the number 1 song, it’s meh now = everything can be controlled. Most of those songs’ numbers don’t even correlate on other platforms… check,” Kizz Daniel wrote.
Known for hits like Cough, Buga, Nesesari, and No Wahala, Kizz Daniel’s message resonates with artists navigating the pressures of an industry increasingly driven by viral moments. Instead, he advocates for authenticity and consistency as the path to long-lasting success.
