Andy Dosty Reflects on Advising Bradez to Go Solo from Okyeame Kwame

Renowned radio host Andy Dosty has opened up about his role in encouraging Bradez, the hiplife duo of Flowking Stone and Kunta Kinte, to establish their independence from their elder brother and mentor, Okyeame Kwame.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz, Andy revealed that he had advised Okyeame Kwame to step back and allow the duo to pursue their career without his direct influence. He also took the opportunity to apologize to Okyeame Kwame for spearheading the move.
“I felt it was time for the boys to break out from under Okyeame Kwame’s shadow. I told him, ‘Let them go; they’ll find their way and succeed on their own,'” Andy shared.
Okyeame Kwame, who was present during the discussion, admitted that while the suggestion initially conflicted with his plans for Bradez, he later realized the wisdom behind Andy’s advice.
“Kunta was like a son to me. After our father passed, I raised him with a vision for what he could become. I was attached to my plans for their future. But Andy’s advice turned out to be one of the best things that happened to us. It worked,” Okyeame Kwame said.
Andy explained that his intention was to help Bradez grow independently while enabling Okyeame Kwame to concentrate on his own musical journey.
“The idea wasn’t to separate them entirely but to help the boys stand tall and shine without being overshadowed,” Andy noted.
Bradez, who rose to fame with hits like Simple, Dondo, and One Gallon, initially gained traction under Okyeame Kwame’s mentorship. Their eventual decision to pursue an independent path marked a turning point that showcased their talent and solidified their position in the music industry.
