Beyoncé Leads 67th Grammy Nominations with 11 Nods

Beyoncé takes the lead with 11 nominations for the 67th Grammy Awards, marking what is expected to be another year dominated by female artists.

Her nominations stem from her country album Cowboy Carter, earning recognition across the country, pop, and Americana categories. This marks her largest single-year haul and ties her with her husband, Jay-Z, for the record of most Grammy nominations ever. With 32 Grammy wins to her name, Beyoncé remains the most awarded artist in the history of the awards, though she has yet to secure a win for Album of the Year.

In the prestigious Album of the Year category, Beyoncé faces stiff competition from artists including André 3000, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Jacob Collier, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift.

Following closely behind Beyoncé are Kendrick Lamar, Charli XCX, Post Malone, and Billie Eilish, each with seven nominations. Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter each earned six nominations.

Rising star Chappell Roan continues a breakout year, emerging as a favorite in the Best New Artist category alongside Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, Raye, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims.

The Record of the Year category features several standout tracks, including Now and Then by The Beatles, Texas Hold ‘Em by Beyoncé, Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter, 360 by Charli XCX, Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar, Good Luck Babe by Chappell Roan, and Fortnight by Taylor Swift and Post Malone.

In the Song of the Year category, nominees include A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey, Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish, Die with a Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, Fortnight by Taylor Swift and Post Malone, Good Luck Babe by Chappell Roan, Please Please Please by Sabrina Carpenter, and Texas Hold ‘Em by Beyoncé.

The dance categories also saw notable nods for Justice, Troye Sivan, and Disclosure, while The Black Keys and Green Day led the rock categories. Chris Brown, despite ongoing controversy surrounding him, received significant attention in the R&B categories alongside Muni Long and Lucky Daye.

Kendrick Lamar, the most-nominated rapper, will compete in the rap categories with Eminem and J. Cole among the contenders.

Dolly Parton, Jimmy Carter, and Barbra Streisand make appearances in the audiobook category, while comedy albums feature Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais.

The Recording Academy’s CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., highlighted music’s role as a “powerful force for good” in his statement accompanying the nominations. The 67th Grammy Awards will be decided by a panel of 13,000 voting members, and no new categories have been added for the first time in four years.

Earlier this year, Taylor Swift made history by becoming the first artist to win Album of the Year four times, taking home the award for Midnights.

The 67th Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2025, with a host for the ceremony yet to be announced.
