Taylor Swift’s Unforgettable Moments as She Wraps Up U.S. Eras Tour in Indianapolis

Taylor Swift is bringing her iconic Eras Tour to a spectacular close, and as she kicks off her final U.S. shows in Indianapolis, she’s leaving fans with memories they won’t soon forget. From breaking attendance records to delivering heartfelt performances, Swift is showing her appreciation to her dedicated fans in style.
When Swift announced The Eras Tour back on November 1, 2022, even she may not have anticipated how epic the journey would become. Originally, the tour was slated for just 27 shows. However, by the time it concludes this December, she will have performed an astonishing 149 concerts, making this her longest-running tour to date. For comparison, her Fearless tour was 118 shows – a number she’s far surpassed with The Eras Tour.
In her first of three nights at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium, Swift’s emotions ran high as she reflected on this milestone. Following a thunderous applause after performing Champagne Problems, Swift looked visibly moved. It seems Indianapolis may have just claimed the record for the longest ovation for this song, clocking in around three minutes and 40 seconds, overtaking last weekend’s New Orleans crowd, who held the applause for three and a half minutes.
“Indy, can I just say to you, on behalf of myself, my band, and all of my fellow performers and crew: We’re not going to get to do this show very many more times, and we are never going to forget that you just did that for us,” Swift said, her voice wavering with emotion as she looked out over the massive crowd.
As much as Swift’s “Swifties” may want The Eras Tour to last forever, her time on U.S. stages is coming to an end. After Indianapolis, she heads to Canada for her final shows in Toronto and Vancouver, bringing her journey to a close in December. It’s a bittersweet farewell for both the artist and her fans, but Swift is determined to make these last U.S. shows unforgettable.
During her set, Swift explained why she chose Indianapolis as the location for her final American stop. “We’ve gotten to take The Eras Tour all over the world this year,” she said, recounting her 2024 dates in Australia, Asia, and Europe. “And we decided: We have got to bring this tour in front of the most dedicated, passionate, enthusiastic, excitable, loud fans. So we decided that the very last U.S. city on The Eras Tour would, in fact, be right here in Indianapolis, Indiana. And I can already tell we made the best decision possible.”
Indianapolis has become a frequent destination for Swift over the years, with this show marking her ninth performance in the city. The Hoosier crowd has a reputation for showing up in full force, and they didn’t disappoint this time either. Swift announced to the audience that her show had just broken the all-time attendance record at Lucas Oil Stadium, a record previously held by her own Reputation Tour. Morgan Wallen briefly held the title earlier this year with his One Thing at a Time Tour, but Swift has now reclaimed it.
With moments like these, Swift is certainly going out with a bang. As she wraps up her U.S. leg, Swift continues to look back on her journey with nostalgia, delighting fans with throwbacks to her earliest hits from 2006 and navigating technical challenges with her trademark grace. The Eras Tour has been a whirlwind for Swift and her fans, and as she wraps up these last American dates, it’s clear that her love for her fans—and theirs for her—has made this tour one for the ages.
