Shatta Wale Criticizes Stonebwoy, Citing Fame-Driven Ego

Dancehall icon Shatta Wale has taken aim at Stonebwoy, claiming that his fellow artist’s rising fame is making him increasingly arrogant. Speaking on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast, Shatta Wale said, “Stonebwoy is just getting swollen-headed with fame.”
The Dancehall King artist revealed that he has tried to reconcile with Stonebwoy, known for hits like Manodzi, but his efforts have been in vain. “I’ve reached out several times, suggesting we settle our differences and collaborate for mutual benefit, but it’s never worked,” he shared.
While insisting he has no personal animosity towards Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale criticized him and other artists for what he describes as insincerity. “Stonebwoy and others aren’t real; they’re surrounded by fake people. I don’t have a problem with him, so I’m baffled when people think otherwise,” he said, clarifying that his only prior issue was with Samini, not Stonebwoy.
Shatta Wale also expressed disappointment with law enforcement, believing they should have taken action after Stonebwoy brandished a firearm during their altercation at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. “If it were me, I’d be in jail. So why didn’t they arrest him?” he asked.
Since the 2019 VGMA incident, tensions between the two artists have remained high, with ongoing exchanges both on- and offline. Meanwhile, Stonebwoy recently released his sixth studio album, UP & RUNNIN6 and preparing for a world tour for it.
