In a lively conversation with comedian and actor Broda Shaggi during the launch of his new Puma collection, Nigerian music sensation Davido discussed his personal style and his highly anticipated upcoming album.
When asked about his fashion influences, the Grammy nominee expressed his affinity for urban fashion but emphasized his versatility for different settings.
“They say I dress like a rapper because I enjoy urban fashion. I prefer T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers for comfort, but you’ll see me in a suit when it’s time to handle business. And occasionally, I rock an Agbada,” Davido explained.
Regarding his music, Davido confidently named his fourth album, Timeless, as his best effort to date. Released on March 31, 2023, the album achieved remarkable success, breaking streaming records on platforms such as Spotify Nigeria, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube within its first week.
Timeless earned a Grammy nomination for Best Global Album and featured popular tracks like “Unavailable,” featuring Musa Keys, which received a Grammy nod for Best African Song Performance, and “Feel,” nominated for Best Global Song Performance.
Looking ahead, Davido hinted that his next album will outshine Timeless, a claim he previously made earlier this year during a meeting with American content creator Kai Cenat. Fans can expect the launch of his collaboration with Jamaican artist YG Marley to kick off this exciting new project.
