Jackie Appiah Earns AMAA Best Actress Nomination

The Africa Film Academy, the organization behind the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), has unveiled the highly anticipated nominations for its 20th edition. Renowned Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah, has earned a nomination in the coveted Best Actress in a Leading Role category for her performance in the film Red Carpet.
The announcement was made during the official launch of the awards, which took place in Ikeja, Nigeria, on Wednesday, October 2. Jackie Appiah will be competing against a stellar lineup of actresses, including Girley Jazama, Oyin Oladejo, Unati Faku, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Laura Pepple, and Ife Irele.
The event was graced by several notable figures, including Mr. Tony Anih, the Chief Operating Officer of AMAA, and Mr. Kingsley James, the producer of the AMAA Gala Night.
Under the theme “Celebrating African Creativity,” this year’s edition is set to be a grand showcase of African talent in filmmaking. AMAA founder Peace Anyiam-Osigwe unveiled a series of exciting events leading up to the awards:

November 1: AMAA Africa Night of Legends
AMAA Meets Nollywood: Date to be announced
AMAA Africa Fashion Show and Exhibition: Date to be announced
November 2: AMAA Gala Night at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos
Speaking about this landmark edition, Anyiam-Osigwe emphasized that the 2024 AMAA will not only redefine continental awards but also set a new direction for future celebrations of African greatness in the creative industry.
The 20th edition promises to be a remarkable tribute to Africa’s innovation, creativity, and artistic achievements.
