Gregory Wings Plans to Organize Drake’s First-Ever Concert in South Africa

Controversial American rapper and entrepreneur Gregory Wings is on a mission to rebuild his relationship with South African fans by hosting a groundbreaking event in 2025. The highly anticipated concert will mark the first-ever live performance by multi-award-winning rapper Drake in South Africa.
Gregory is no stranger to the South African entertainment scene. His company was behind the planned 2023 concert featuring Nigerian superstar Burna Boy, which unfortunately fell through. The cancellation left thousands of fans disappointed and sparked backlash, putting Gregory and his business partner, Abraham Radebe, under intense scrutiny.
Determined to make amends, Gregory now aims to bring the “Headlines” hitmaker to South Africa. According to a report by news outlet TshisaLive, the goal is not only to stage a historic concert but also to right the wrongs of his previous venture.

While Drake has visited South Africa briefly to film the music video for his hit song “Controlla,” he has never performed a live concert in the country. Gregory intends to change that, revealing ambitious plans to deliver a memorable experience.
“Bringing Drake to South Africa for his first stadium show is not just about the music; it’s about celebrating a pivotal moment in Black history,” Gregory shared with TshisaLive.
The event, titled “The Freedom Show,” will commemorate 30 years since the end of apartheid, adding a deeper cultural significance to the concert.
Reflecting on the lessons from his past missteps, Gregory expressed confidence in the success of this event. “I’ve taken every precaution to ensure this event is executed flawlessly. I’ve spent the last year immersing myself in the culture and building relationships within the South African entertainment industry.”
With careful planning and renewed determination, Gregory hopes to redeem himself and create a historic moment for both Drake and South African fans.
