Faith, Healing, and Legacy: Una Morgan Reunites with Morgan Heritage After Long Break

After almost ten years away from the spotlight, Una Morgan, the radiant “Empress” of Morgan Heritage, has officially rejoined the Grammy Award-winning reggae group, marking an inspiring comeback grounded in faith, healing, and love for music.
Una stepped away from the group in 2016 following severe health challenges that affected her thyroid and heart. Reflecting on her decision, she shared, “The break came as a result of a medical emergency. But I soon realized it was the Most High telling me to slow down — not only to heal but to draw closer to Him.”
During her hiatus, Una devoted her time to spiritual growth, personal recovery, and entrepreneurship. She revealed that her solo album is nearing completion and that she also launched a new business in commodities. “That season of stillness was necessary,” she explained. “It allowed me to understand myself, my purpose, and my faith on a deeper level.”
Her return to the group in April 2024 was both emotional and symbolic. She reunited with Morgan Heritage for a performance in Barbados, just four months after the passing of her brother and fellow band member, Peter “Peetah” Morgan.
“It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” Una recalled. “Being on stage without my brother was painful. But the strength I gained during my time away made me realize that I was ready — spiritually, mentally, and emotionally — to continue the journey we started together.”
Reggae fans around the world have warmly celebrated her comeback, praising her for her resilience and unshakable spirit. “I’m deeply grateful for all the love and support,” she said. “It’s a blessing to still be embraced after all these years. I’m happy to be back doing what I love most — spreading love and positivity through music.”
With classics like Don’t Haffi Dread, Down by the River, and She’s Still Loving Me, Morgan Heritage has long been a cornerstone of conscious reggae. Una’s return not only revives the group’s dynamic sound but also reminds the world of the transformative power of faith, family, and purpose.
