Captain Planet, a member of the now-disbanded Ghanaian music group 4×4, believes King Promise could once again be in the running for Artiste of the Year at the next Telecel Ghana Music Awards if he delivers another major hit.
In a recent post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Captain Planet expressed confidence in King Promise’s growing influence, especially following his impressive showing at the 26th TGMAs.
“If King Promise drops another monstrous hit, there’s a strong chance he’ll be nominated for AOTY next year. The spotlight is on him now, and everyone’s paying close attention to his next move,” he said.
He emphasized that this applies not only to King Promise, but to the other AOTY nominees as well. Any of them, he suggested, could make a comeback with strong musical output.
“The same goes for the other AOTY nominees,” he added.
At this year’s awards ceremony, King Promise took home four honors: Best Afropop Song, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste, Best Album/EP of the Year, and the prestigious Artiste of the Year.
Though he was a top contender for the title in 2024, he ultimately lost to Stonebwoy. Still, with his momentum high, another standout release could secure him another shot at the top prize.
