YG Marley’s “Praise Jah In The Moonlight” Goes Platinum in the US

Rising star YG Marley has earned a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his debut single, Praise Jah In The Moonlight. The track, independently released by the 22-year-old artist, has surpassed one million units sold in the United States, cementing Marley’s position as a promising new voice in music.
The song first garnered widespread attention when Marley performed it during his mother Lauryn Hill’s tour last year. A creative homage to his roots, Praise Jah In The Moonlight features a sample from his grandfather Bob Marley’s 1978 classic Crisis. Lauryn Hill, Marley’s mother, played a pivotal role in its production as a co-writer and co-producer.
The track’s success has been nothing short of phenomenal, dominating charts worldwide. It climbed to prominent spots on the Billboard Hot 100, UK Singles Chart, and New Zealand Songs Chart. Beyond the US, the single has earned Gold certification in the UK and France, and Platinum status in Canada and New Zealand.
Streaming numbers have further underscored its global appeal, with over 379 million streams on Spotify and nearly 28 million views on YouTube.
Building on the momentum of his debut, YG Marley has since released new tracks, including Survival, inspired by his grandfather’s groundbreaking 1979 album of the same name. He has also collaborated with renowned artists like Davido and Chlöe, signaling an exciting trajectory for his burgeoning career.
