Ras Kuuku Sets Sights on Groundbreaking Collaboration with Daddy Lumba

Ghanaian reggae and dancehall sensation Kojo Kurankye, popularly known as Ras Kuuku, has announced plans to collaborate with legendary highlife maestro Daddy Lumba on an original project.
In an exclusive interview with Hitz FM’s Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Monday, November 11, 2024, Ras Kuuku revealed that discussions with Daddy Lumba are underway. The pair intends to create a fresh track rather than revisiting Lumba’s iconic repertoire.
“We’re planning it, but it won’t be a remix [of his old songs],” Ras Kuuku emphasized. He expressed optimism about the collaboration, hoping the timing will align for them to bring the idea to fruition.
Andy Dosty praised Ras Kuuku’s stunning performance of Lumba’s timeless classic Ankwanoma during the highlife legend’s 60th birthday celebration. Reflecting on the tribute, Ras Kuuku shared that his admiration for Daddy Lumba runs deep, describing the performance as a heartfelt homage to a musician whose influence has shaped Ghanaian music.
The founder of Puom Music and leader of the Puom Nation has a track record of collaborating with some of Ghana’s most celebrated artists, including Kofi Kinaata, Samini, Kuami Eugene, Ypee, and Fameye. A partnership with Daddy Lumba would represent a monumental step in his career, blending reggae-dancehall and highlife in a way that celebrates the rich diversity of Ghanaian music.
Fans of both artists are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a unique and memorable collaboration.
