Camidoh: No Rush for a Follow-Up to ‘Sugarcane’ Success

Almost three years since his breakout hit “Sugarcane,” Camidoh remains unbothered by expectations for another chart-topping single. The artist, whose real name is Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, confidently asserts that he feels no pressure to replicate his past success.

In a conversation with Graphic Showbiz on October 24, 2024, Camidoh emphasized his focus on creating authentic music rather than succumbing to the pressure of comparisons with his earlier work.

“I’ve never felt pressured to produce another song like ‘Sugarcane.’ I believe I’ve been gifted with incredible talent, and my goal is to make great music without the burden of comparisons,” he explained.

Camidoh is optimistic that his future projects will receive the recognition they deserve. “If I were struggling to create music, I might feel differently. But I recognize my gift, so I’m not in a rush to churn out another ‘Sugarcane,'” he said.

Addressing challenges in the music industry, Camidoh highlighted the need for better communication regarding the value of artists and their work. He believes that increased understanding and appreciation will lead to greater respect for musicians.

“Our industry needs to communicate the value of artistry more effectively. When people grasp the significance of an artist or their music, they will cherish it more,” he stated.

Currently, Camidoh is promoting a remix of his single “NLF (Nothing Lasts Forever),” featuring Coded from 4×4, Kelvyn Boy, Medikal, Lyrical Joe, King Paluta and Beeztrap KOTM, while also working on new projects. He underscored the importance of collaboration as a means of fostering growth within the industry.

“Collaborations allow artists to exchange ideas and promote each other’s growth, which benefits the entire industry. I have a joint project with Qwamina MP titled ‘Before You Go,’ and I’m featured on S3fa’s new song ‘All Over.’ I have several collaborations in the pipeline, so I encourage my fans to look out for these releases and show their support,” he concluded.
