Celebrating Excellence: DStv Content Creator Awards 2024 Winners Announced

At the Nelson Mandela Square hosted the glitzy third edition of the DStv Content Creator Awards, honoring digital creators who have carved a niche in the South African content space.
Radio host Anele Mdoda served as the evening’s MC, while the entertainment lineup included performances by the Bontle Modiselle Dance Studio, Mandisi, Nina Hastie, Cassidy Nicholson, Lasizwe, Christall Kay, and drag performers Manila von Teez and Ina Propriette. Winners were chosen based on public votes and a panel of expert judges.
Reflecting on the event, Manuela Dias de Deus, founder of the awards, said, “Reaching year three of the DStv Content Creator Awards is truly special. It highlights the unwavering support we’ve received from digital talent, the industry, and fans alike. These creators are vital to our thriving content landscape, and we’re honored to celebrate their achievements while helping to create opportunities that elevate their careers.”
With a mix of fresh faces and familiar names, the winners showcased dedication to producing content that engages local audiences. Each walked away with a custom-designed trophy by artist Shaun Oakley and a prize hamper worth R7,000. Some winners also received additional cash prizes.

Social Commentary Award: Darren Campher
Podcast of the Year Award: “African Story Magic” by Gcina Mhlophe
Pan-African Creator Award: Mark Angel Comedy
Travel & Lifestyle Award: Chris Rogers (including R10,000 LIFT Wallet)
Gaming Creator of the Year Award: Beamerboy TV
Foodie Award: Sifo The Cooking Husband
Fashion & Style Award: Nabilah Kariem
Beauty Award: Colour Me Simphiwe
Best Event After Movie Award: Rage Festival by G&G Productions
Spirit of Africa Award, presented by Amarula Premium African Gin: Colour Me Simphiwe (also received R20,000 from Amarula Premium African Gin)
Best Creator Campaign Content Award: Chris Rogers for Bonaqua’s “Chug Life”
DStv Content Creator of the Year Award: Sifo The Cooking Husband (including R20,000 from DStv)
