Beyoncé Set to Headline NFL Christmas Gameday Halftime Show

Beyoncé is bringing her star power back to her hometown of Houston this Christmas, trading the Super Bowl stage for an NFL Christmas Gameday extravaganza.

The global icon will headline the halftime show during the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game on Dec. 25. The event, streaming live on Netflix from NRG Stadium, will feature Beyoncé’s first-ever live performance of tracks from her Grammy-nominated country-infused album, Cowboy Carter.

Released earlier this year, Cowboy Carter shattered records, topping both the Billboard 200 — her eighth consecutive number-one album — and the Top Country Albums chart. The album has been celebrated for blending country and pop influences, earning Beyoncé 11 Grammy nominations, including several in country music categories. Highlights include nods for Best Country Solo Performance (16 Carriages), Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Miley Cyrus (II Most Wanted), and Best Country Album. Additional nominations include Best Americana Performance (Ya Ya) and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Levii’s Jeans), a collaboration with Post Malone.

A Cinematic Tease

Netflix heightened anticipation for the performance with a dramatic teaser. The clip features Beyoncé in a stunning patriotic Western ensemble, perched atop a vintage car adorned with red roses. As an a cappella version of her track Ameriican Requiem plays, she effortlessly catches a football, hinting at a show-stopping performance to come.

Beyoncé’s NFL Legacy

This performance marks Beyoncé’s return to the NFL halftime spotlight, following her iconic Super Bowl appearances in 2013, where she reunited with Destiny’s Child, and in 2016, when she joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars.

Netflix’s Bold Move into Live Sports

The NFL Christmas Gameday represents a milestone for Netflix as it ventures into live sports, with the streaming giant reportedly paying $75 million per game. The doubleheader begins with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Texans vs. Ravens matchup at 4:30 p.m. ET. Beyoncé’s halftime show will air live on Netflix, with regional broadcasts and mobile streaming available through NFL+.

This historic partnership between Netflix and the NFL promises an unforgettable Christmas Day for football fans and music lovers alike.
