Highlife icon Ofori Amponsah has revealed a remarkable spiritual side, sharing that he possesses the gift of prophecy, which he discovered long before his celebrated music career took off.
In a recent interview on the Day Show with Berla Mundi, the “Emmanuella” hitmaker opened up about his prophetic abilities. “I don’t want to go into too much detail today, but it’s a gift… I can sit and say that in 2020, this will happen,” he disclosed.
Amponsah further explained that his prophetic gift predates his musical talent, with his songs often serving as an outlet for his visions. “Music was my platform,” he said. “Sometimes I’m in the studio, and I receive a vision about the future. Since I don’t have a church, I incorporate these messages into my songs.”
The legendary musician, who once stepped away from the spotlight to pursue his faith, clarified that this period was not about a new religious awakening. “I was already in church, singing and preaching before becoming Ofori Amponsah,” he explained. His break from music was motivated by personal struggles and a need to rediscover himself.
Looking back, Amponsah sees the hiatus as crucial to his personal growth. “I was going astray, and I needed to take that break. Now, I am far more successful—hundred times more than before.”
