Goodies Music CEO Shares Insights on the Role of Technology in Transforming Music Production

The CEO of Goodies Music, a renowned Ghanaian record label known for shaping the careers of rising stars, has shared valuable insights on how technology is reshaping the music industry by making the production, distribution, and sharing of music more accessible.
In an interview on Ahotor Mmre with Obaapa Janee, the CEO explained how modern tools have revolutionized the creative process. “Technology has made it incredibly easy to create music today. What used to take days or weeks in a studio can now be achieved in a matter of hours with the right setup,” said the CEO.
With just a laptop, microphone, and music software, artists can produce high-quality tracks from the comfort of their homes. The reliance on expensive studio sessions has diminished as digital audio workstations (DAWs), apps, and plug-ins allow creators to mix, master, and release their music independently.
Goodies Music pointed out that this shift has democratized music creation, enabling unsigned artists to bypass the traditional barriers in the industry. “While this opens the door for more talent, it also means increased competition,” the CEO noted. “Now, it’s not just about having the tools you need creativity, talent, and a deep understanding of your audience to truly stand out.” They emphasized that while technology has lowered the barriers, it’s important for artists to maintain balance.
The CEO believes that the core of music still resides in the emotions and stories that artists convey. “In the end, it’s not about the gadgets or software. It’s about the passion and soul you put into your work.”
They also touched on the rise of new technologies like AI-generated music and virtual reality concerts, which are set to further revolutionize the industry.
“We’re in an era where the sky’s the limit for artists,” the CEO concluded. “Technology has opened up new possibilities, but it’s up to each artist to decide how far they want to go.”
