Paul Okoye Shares Tips in Dealing with Trolls

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has humorously shared his approach to handling online trolls and haters.
In a post on his Instagram Stories, he suggested, “Sometimes be nice to these trolls … listen to them. They’ll reveal their frustrations and why they’re upset with you for no reason. Then ask them to send their account details, give them some hope, and when they send it… insult their father and block them!”
His playful message elicited a range of reactions from Instagram users, with many agreeing with his lighthearted view.
One user commented, “He’s absolutely right 😂. If I get the chance, I’ll insult anyone who trolls me! Nobody owns trolling; I just dealt with one last week who started emotional blackmail after I responded to his insults. If you’re frustrated, channel that frustration correctly!”
However, not everyone was on board with his perspective. Some users criticized his approach, with one remarking, “Since he got married to a Gen Z, he’s been so loud,” while another said, “I expected wisdom, but this was a mistake.”
Despite the mixed reactions, Rudeboy remains firm in his stance against negativity. His playful take contrasts with fellow Nigerian artist Chike, who recently made headlines for sending ₦1 million to a Twitter troll who accused him of benefiting from the late singer Mohbad’s fame. Chike’s gesture successfully silenced the troll, while Rudeboy is clearly not inclined to take that route.
